Gas filtrations

In more than 25 years, we have built up an unparalleled wealth of experience in the field of gas adsorption through several thousand measurements. We also contribute this knowledge to international standardization as experts and consultants.

Since the initial pioneering work and firm establishment of these measurements in the automotive sector, we have also tested variations of the standards according to many customer and application-specific requirements, e.g. from the aviation industry, kitchen applications, fuel cells, agricultural products, general HVAC applications, alternative filter systems and much more. We are proud to have an international customer base of many well-known and globally recognized companies.

We are not only aware of the relevance of precise control of test conditions such as temperature, humidity, volume flow and constancy of the gas feed for reproducible measurements, we can also implement them. Gas detection is carried out online using modern measuring devices optimized for the respective test gas with detection limits in the low ppb level, e.g. flame ionization detection, chemiluminescence, UV fluorescence, electrochemical methods, FTIR spectroscopy.

Standard-compliant
and much more in-depth if required

  • Determination of efficiency and breakthrough curves and adsorption capacities with very flexible gas concentrations
  • Significantly extended range of test substances
  • Flexible adjustment of relative humidities, even in the very low range
  • Adsorption at higher temperatures (up to 110 °C)
  • Analysis of desorption curves at variable temperatures
  • Partly gas mixtures
  • Substances with low vapor pressure (e.g. siloxane)
  • Many other adsorption measurements according to customer-specific test specifications and, if desired, advice on a suitable test matrix
  • Decay behavior in recirculation mode in a professional 2 m³ chamber

The most commonly used international standards are

  • ISO 11155-2 / DIN 71460-2:
Standards for the testing of adsorptive air filters in vehicle interiors

  • ISO 10121 Part 1-3:
Methods for the evaluation of gas adsorption filters in ventilation applications

  • EN 15695-2:
Standard for the protection requirements of driver's cabs in agriculture
